  • UPDATES – WEEK OF AUGUST 21st

    GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS:   International Guests: Three high school students and their advisor representing Japan’s Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture schools will be visiting our campus this week. Over these past years, this goodwill exchange program has helped to promote strong cultural understanding and appreciation.  Guests will be shadowing their host students all four periods including extra-curricular activities.  Thank you in advance for everyone’s support and hospitality.   • UPDATE -WEEK OF AUGUST 14th

    GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS:  School Wide Consistent Practices: Teachers are reminded about our agreement to be consistent in taking role within the first ten minutes of class, having an opening (bell-to-bell) activity where students know what to do when they walk into your classrooms, reminding students to put their cell phones away, and monitoring that students are wearing their school shirts.   Wanted to also share that the opening week of school went quite smoothly overall.     GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS:   Class of 2021 – Freshmen Orientation: Grade 9 orientation is happening on Monday, August 7th from 7:45 – 12:15 p.m.   Freshmen should have a wonderful experience as many hours of planning went into this effort over the summer.   Kudos to those Hui teachers, support staff, and students for their hard work in making this a reality.  Expecting a good amount  of parents to be in attendance and asking all staff to help welcome students/parents when they are touring the campus. KAPAA HIGH SCHOOL COURSE DESCRIPTION HANDBOOK 2017 – 2018 KHS PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Students at Kapa’a High School are organized into Smaller Learning Communities in order to ensure personalization, student support, rigor & relevance. Small teams of teachers from different disciplines generally share common planning time and a group of students. Counselors are assigned by grade level to ensure continuity throughout the student’s four- year experience at Kapa’a High School.
