GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS: 2017 Hiki No Awards – Best Overall Story – High School Division: Congratulations to our students Brandi Baligad, Mikela Griffen, Maya Clark, Haley Gokan, Leila Nelson, and  Kiara Wetherington as their work was recognized as the winning Best Overall Story-High School Division!!!   They won with their story about the Iloreta Brothers. GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS: Computer Science: Per students’ feedback & requests,  tremendous interest for “Computer Science” courses.  In fact, “Computer Science” classes may become part of our school’s  “regular” course offerings outpacing some other courses.  In discussions with our State Curriculum Offices (OCISS),  they are currently working on various computer science options such as being it’s own course or linked with content areas.  Per Chandra Rivers helping to facilitate our school’s first computer science course, administration is aware of the growing students’ interests as they share how science, technology, engineering and mathematics is more relevant.   “Coding” is drawing…

GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS: Kapaa High’s Hui/Academy Framework: As our Hui/Academy pathways evolve, attached reflects the latest framework showing our two new pathway program additions based on students’ interests.   Education within the Public Human Service Pathway and Natural Resources Production per the Natural Resources Pathway.   The updated framework is being shared with our community partners, visiting school teams, and within the various grant applications.
