GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS: Senior Expo: Special thanks to Janis Gowan and Tara Punzal for a very successful “Senior Expo” this past week.  Overall, students that I spoke with were prepared, knowledgeable, and confident.  Evident that many seniors are eagerly looking forward to their upcoming Senior Project presentations in May.  Want to especially acknowledge the dedicated efforts of Janis and Tara as this capstone project effort is truly time consuming and they continue to be terrific role models in making this a reality for our seniors!!!! GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS: LEI Program: On Wednesday – April 6th, Kapaa High students will be participating in the CLIMB HI Leadership, Exploration & Inspiration (LEI) program sponsored by the Sheraton Kauai Resort.  Students interested in the Tourism & Hospitality careers will be treated to a day where they will meet with industry professionals and the opportunity for hands on experiences in seeing the overall resort operations as well as being treated to a very nice meal.   The LEI program provides an wonderful opportunity for students to learn directly from the hospitality industry personnel.  Special thanks to the…

GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS:  Kauai Regional Science and Engineering Fair: Congratulations to Ritikaa Kumar as she was awarded 3rd place for the Senior Division.  Ritikaa’s research project “Honey as a Measure of Environmental Contamination by Glyphosate”  was the only project submitted from Kapaa High competing against nearly 40 other students from Kauai and Waimea High schools.  Special recognition for Teacher Nicole McKamey in helping to serve as our school’s coordinator.
