UPDATES – WEEK OF OCT. 16th

Per our Early College journey, wanted to highlight Waipahu High School’s Ms. Rovy Dipaysa.   Rovy is currently a senior and taking Early College courses from Leeward Community College.   She has been taking Early College courses since grade 9  and currently has enough credits for an Associate of Arts (AA) in Liberal Arts and Associate of Science (AS) in Philippine Studies.  Ms. Dipaysa will be completed with her AA and AS requirements this December, one semester before she officially graduates from Waipahu High in June 2018.   Rovy has applied for admission at Chaminade University’s Nursing Program for Fall 2018…

I take this opportunity sharing my appreciation to our students, SAC Harriet Watanabe, teachers and parents for a wonderful homecoming event.  Seeing first hand the many students giving of their time and staying late to decorate our gym and community  speaks volumes to the WARRIOR PRIDE.  Seeing teachers, support staff, and parents willing to donate their time in supporting our students is indicative as to how special our school has evolved.    Want to also acknowledge teacher Liz Steiner and her science students who volunteered to help monitor/count (in the rain) shearwaters during our homecoming game.  What a wonderful example…

UPDATES – WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 25th

GOAL 1:   STUDENT SUCCESS:   Student Support Practices: Appreciate the open sharing at our last EES session.  Performance results  reflects our efforts for SY 2016-17 and also re-sharing our base-line effective SY 2017 that all school’s must attain.  (ELA – 51% (already met benchmark);  Math – 42% & Science – 43%).   As a 4 X 4 block schedule school, our teachers teach their content classes twice within a calendar year meaning that alignment, common assessments, and support system should be in place.   Thus our baseline standard benchmark of 50% benchmark for math and science is achievable.  Firmly believe…
