UPDATES – WEEK OF DECEMBER 11th

Goal 1: STUDENT SUCCESS: Senior Projects: Our fall semester English seniors will be doing their senior project presentations this Wednesday, December 13th. We will be on an assembly schedule that day. Community members are again coming together to volunteer as panel judges and ask for everyone’s help in providing light refreshments. Senior English teachers are requesting that all snacks are delivered to the library no later than 12:00 p.m. or you may drop off snacks/beverages to either Ms. Kapali or Punzal’s rooms anytime that morning. His “Visible Learning” research study involves millions of students and represents the collection of evidence based research into what actually works in schools to improve learning. Research covered areas of influence addressing the student, home, school, curricula, teacher and teaching practices is supported by many outstanding individuals in the field of educational research. Goal 1: STUDENT SUCCESS: Class of 2021 Parent Registration: Grade 9 parents will be having a registration meeting on Thursday, Nov. 30th @6:00 p.m. in the library to learn more about the grade 10 electronic registration process, HOPES & IDEAS Academy pathways, Early College, etc. Encouraging academy teachers to support this very important parent meeting as it sets the tone for the students’ academy selection process. Goal 1: STUDENT SUCCESS Academy Interdisciplinary Capstone: Per our mid-term WASC visit, we are reminded us about those key areas that we need to focus on……. interdisciplinary projects, capstone and improving our state assessment scores for Math and Science. Asking our CTE lead teachers to work with their academies to solidify pathway interdisciplinary capstone programs to ensure relevancy for all students. Goal 1: STUDENT SUCCESS WASC Visitation: Our mid-term WASC visitation is happening this Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017. Visiting team members Chair Elden Esmeralda, Principal and Robin Kitsu, Curriculum Coordinator will be on campus prior to the start of school and remain until they finalize their review.
