Graduation 2017

UPDATES – WEEK OF DECEMBER 11th

Goal 1: STUDENT SUCCESS:
Senior Projects:
Our fall semester English seniors will be doing their senior project presentations this Wednesday, December 13th. We will be on an assembly schedule that day. Community members are again coming together to volunteer as panel judges and ask for everyone’s help in providing light refreshments. Senior English teachers are requesting that all snacks are delivered to the library no later than 12:00 p.m. or you may drop off snacks/beverages to either Ms. Kapali or Punzal’s rooms anytime that morning. All teachers need to be in their assigned rooms before the first presentation at 2:00 p.m. Appreciate everyone’s support as it truly takes a village!!!

GOAL 2: STAFF SUCCESS:
Hui & Academy PLCs:
Over the course of this semester, administration has seen very powerful examples of teachers continuing to share, learn, evaluate and discuss students based on data. Student support discussions are centered on student improvement where adults are helping support each other to better address student’s needs. Quality of our school PLC design is showing growth as a majority of teachers are using evidence data to inform their discussions with decisions leading to timely instructional supports.

Literacy & Assessment PLC sessions with Anne Davies & Sandra Hebst:
Anne Davies and Sandra Hebst will be on island doing a two separate training sessions….secondary schools on Thursday, Jan. 18th at the District Office 2nd floor and Friday, Jan. 19th for the elementary schools at Kauai HS R-3. Interested teachers for the January 18th session, are asked to submit your names to your Hui/Academy leaders. Each secondary school will be limited to 3 teachers and there may be a wait list.

Goal 3: SYSTEM SUCCESS:
