There are Seniors who still have not paid their $30 picture taking fee and/or turned in a baby picture.  If that is you, please see Mrs. Watanabe in the SAC room by this Friday or your pictures will not appear in the yearbook.

Any student interested in University of Northern Colorado may come to the Counseling Office and pick up Admissions and Admissions Scholarship information.

The following Scholarship applications and information are available at the Counseling office, and can be picked up during recess and lunch only.

· Kauai Veteran’s Council – Miss Kauai Veteran’s Scholarship  Deadline: Sept. 22, 2017

· The Gromet Foundation Scholarship – Must have financial need, With 3.8 GPA or better.  Deadline:  Oct. 28, 2017

· Wendy’s High School Heisman – Must be an Athlete, have 3.0 GPA or better, and Community minded.  Deadline: Oct 2, 2107

· Pauahi Foundation Scholarships – Na Ho’okama a Pauahi Scholarship Application period opens Oct. 2, 2017.  Pick up Important Information and Eligibility Requirements, so you can be ready to submit your application ASAP.

· Public Scholarships – Application period opens Jan. 3, 2017.  Please pick up Important Information, Program Requirements and Required Documents list.  Deadline: Feb 15, 2017

· Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation – Regular Scholarship – Deadline:  Dec. 1, 2017  This scholarship is open to students currently participating in water sports or volleyball and who plan to attend in sports in college.  Must 3.0 GPA and must be involved in community service.

· The Gates Scholarship – DEADLINE:  SEPT 15, 2017  Must have 3.3 GPA, Need Based, be African American, American Indian/Alaskan Native*, Asian Pacific Islander American, and or Hispanic American.   US Citizen, National or permanent resident.  Demonstrated Leadership Ability through Community Service or extracurricular or other activities.  Exceptional Personal Success.

The Hawaii Afterschool Annual Summit 2017 “Supporting Student Success” will be held on Friday, Oct. 20th at UH Manoa.

SENIORS, JUNIOR & SOPHOMORES:

The Hawaii College and Career Fair will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Island school.  We will be taking 3 buses, 1 EACH for Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores.

Please bring in $3.85 (Exact Change Please) for Bus Fair, to sign up during recess and lunch at the Counselor’s Office.  Sign ups are on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis.

ALL STUDENTS:

If you took a school picture and did not have money to pay for your pictures but still want to order school pictures, please see Mrs. Watanabe in the SAC room as soon as possible.

PLEASE PICK UP YOUR BUS PASSES IN THE OFFICE

ATTENTION All second semester cadets, Come participate in our annual sweetbread sale. The tickets sold will help fundraise your cost of entry for the military ball. If you sell ten tickets you get in the ball free, if you sell 25 you and your guest can both get in free. Tickets will be distributed on September 25, 2017 and will be due on October 18, 2017, come see colonel levoit at the JROTC room to pick up a packet.  The Military Ball is on Saturday, Nov 11th.

The Kauai Masonic Lodge 2017 Benjamin Franklin Award and Scholarship Application is available in the Counselor’s office for pick up during recess and lunch.

Benjamin Franklin Award -Underclassmen,  2.0 GPA,  250 – 500 Word Essay.  $100

Benjamin Franklin Scholarship- SENIORS   2.0 GPA.  250 – 500 Word Essay.  $1,000

CLUBS:

Interact Club Meeting on Thursday @ the Gym during lunch.  We have 4 service projects coming up.  The United Way Walk-a-thon is a MANDATORY event for all Interact Club members. 9th and 10th graders may pick up permission forms from Ms. C in S108.  Juniors and Seniors please see Aunty Joan
