(See attached file: Mid-Term 1 Memo SY 2017-2018.docx)

Early College High School (ECHS) Program:
With the increasing number of interested students along with Legislative and Business Partnership funding supports, important that everyone has a clear understanding as to the purpose of this dual credit learning opportunity.   Waianela Boiser has done a fine job in putting together the attached ECHS information for students, parents and community.  As administration is currently working on next year’s EC courses to be aligned with our Academy program focus, a couple of points to ensure for the integrity of this program.

  • Any student may apply for a course no matter their academic, social, emotional levels.  Goal is to ultimately have more under-represented students access where student feels they are being forced out.
  • Certain courses can taken out of sequence as Kapaa High works with Kauai Community College in identifying those courses to be offered over the long term.

GOAL 2:   STAFF SUCCESS:
Individualized Professional Development Plan (IPDP):
As discussed at last Wednesday’s EES meeting, encouraging teachers to focus your IPDP around our school-wide RFA process.  As we collectively look at improving Student Support  practices per the Teacher Input Forms, use of data, etc., only makes sense that we align systemically.   Attached is the draft template that teachers could use to begin designing their IPDP.
